Coffee vs Tea is one of life’s biggest dilemmas. Not really, but doesn’t that sound dramatic? In general, they both have great health benefits, are tasty, and are nice to hold when it’s cold outside.
Which one is more popular worldwide? Looking at just the numbers, tea wins. Every day 1.6 billion cups of coffee are consumed on the planet, twice (yes, TWICE) as many cups of tea are consumed. What about in the good ol’ US of A? Americans consume $10 billion worth of coffee and about $2 billion worth of tea. The tea drinkers are gaining on the coffee drinkers, however. For the past 20 years, sales of tea have risen consistently. The Tea Association of the USA reports that on any given day, 160 million Americans drink tea, hot or iced.
