Cool Facts About Cartoons

Cartoons are usually on at some point in the day at our house. Everything from Curious George to Disney to The Simpsons (for the adults). We found some cool facts about cartoons for you to enjoy – ones we’d never heard before! We hope you enjoy!

  • The voice of Spongebob Squarepants is married to the woman who voices Plankton’s computer wife Karen.
  • Originally all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wore the same colored headband, but they were changed so that kids could identify who was who more easily.
  • Smurfette was created by the evil Gargamel as a means of causing trouble amongst the Smurfs. She was an unattractive, evil brunette. After causing problems, she confessed to Papa Smurf  and he magically made her cute, good natured, and blonde.
  • The Scooby Doo characters name’s originally were going to be; Geoff, Mike, Kelly, Linda, W.W. (Linda’s Brother) and their dog, Too Much.
  • Bugs Bunny was the first cartoon character to appear on a stamp and Popeye was the first to have a statue erected in his honor.
